Pumpkin Carving

IMG_1825

Levi and I were invited to a pumpkin carving party this week. My friend Karla was throwing it and it sounded like a lot of fun, and a good opportunity to take some photos of Seattle. In preparation, we went to the store yesterday to grab some pumpkins and a kit for carving them. The pumpkins were five dollars each, which seems to be a reasonable price for pumpkins.

The drive to seattle wasn’t too bad. It was raining a ton when we were driving and I was worried it was going to ruin my chances at a good picture. When we arrived, the rain was still coming down. I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to go take some pictures in the rain or not. I decided that we should make our way to the park to get some pictures of the skyline, even though it was raining. When we got there, I couldn’t believe how amazing the view was. I decided to take some HDR shots during the day which turned out nice.

After I finished with the HDR shots, we headed back to Karla’s place. The party was a lot of fun, we baked some pizza and carved the pumpkins. We even has pumpkin cheesecake which, by the way, is no where near as good as regular cheesecake. Our pumpkins turned out nice. Levi had never carved a pumpkin prior to this and it was exciting to see him carve his first pumpkin. I am glad I got to be there for it.

After the party we went back to the park, this time with Karla. The view at night was breath taking, I was very excited to have an opportunity to take a picture of the skyline. It was extremely windy, and it was about 40 degrees outside. By the time I had finished taking the pictures, I could no longer feel my fingers. After we took Karla home we left to return home as well.
